Modern Medicine’s physical rehabilitation suite of services includes
Class IV Laser
Through a non-invasive use of laser energy, the treatment generates a response in damaged or dysfunctional tissue. This eliminates pain, reduces inflammation, and diminishes stiffness
Shockwave Therapy
This non-invasive therapy uses sound waves, which leads to reduced inflammation, decreased or eliminated pain, and increased mobility.
Spinal Decompression
Through stretching of the spine, using a traction table or another similar tool, Spinal Decompression relieves back and leg pain and improves spinal health for patients with disc ailments.
Chiropractic Adjustments
This common method uses a combination of different pressures, forces, and speeds of spinal manipulation to alleviate back and neck pain while restoring spinal alignment.
Massage Therapy
Massaging of muscles, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments can be catered to the patient’s condition with dozens of different modalities of massage. Massage benefits include reduction of stress, rehabilitation from injuries, pain relief, and greater overall health and wellness.
Active Release Technique
This soft tissue massage technique provides treatment for overused muscles. Common ailments such as carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, back pain, sciatica, knee problems, and tennis elbow can be successfully treated with Active Release Technique (ART).
PNF Stretching
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching is used my medical professionals, especially in the Sports Medicine field, to increase range of motion and rehabilitate after an injury.
Extremity Adjustments
This technique involves manipulation of joints such as the shoulder, ribs, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, and foot to alleviate pain, strengthen joints, and restore normal and proper function.
Deep Tissue Massage
This method of massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues (fascia). Treatment through deep tissue massage results in elimination of chronic aches and pains and increased flexibility in stiff and sore muscles.
Acupuncture
This technique of inserting thin needles into your skin at strategic points comes from traditional Chinese medicine. It is a method used for balancing your body’s energy. It is most commonly used for pain relief.
Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization
By focusing in on the core of the body, this method most commonly called as “DNS” improves movement and enhances performance in athletes.
Kinesio Taping
Through placing a thin, elastic, adhesive strip on the body, Kinesio Taping is used for treating various athletic injuries and inflammatory conditions. With Kinesio Taping, patients see rehabilitation from a range of injuries as well as reduced inflammation.
Orthotics
By using an insert or another modifier, this method ensures the correct alignment of the bones in the feet, ankle, and knees. With orthotics, patients experience greater muscle movement and stamina as well as reduced joint pain for overweight individuals or those that are on their feet for long periods of time.
At Modern Medicine, Dr. Vanderbrook and team cater to the individual, customizing a complete treatment and follow up that incorporates elements of physical rehabilitation, but also may include some of the other Wellness or Orthopedic services. The goal of the entire team is to help you feel better and regain control of your life.
